Stupid. Just Stupid.

Image reads: “It’s time to stomp out atheists in America. The majority of Americans would love to see atheists kicked out of America. If you don’t believe in God, then get out of this country. The United States is based on having freedom of religion, speech, etc., which means you can believe in God any way you want (Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, etc.), but you must believe. I don’t recall freedom of religion meaning no religion. Our currency even says “In God We Trust.” So, to all the atheists in America: Get out of our country. Atheists have caused the ruin of this great nation by taking prayer out of our schools and being able to practice what can only be called evil. I don’t care if they have never committed a crime, atheists are the reason crime is rampant.”

I’m sorry, I’m still recovering from the sheer stupidity of this letter. Seriously, WTF?! It’s the crazy people like this woman that make the rest of them look bad. As to her comment of “you can believe in God in any way you want… but you must believe,” what about all of the Buddhists in America? Should they leave, too? Or does your idea of a “True American” consist only of Christians? Seriously lady, WTF.

Atheists have as much right to be here as you. People come to America for freedom, not religious persecution. In fact, this country was founded by people fleeing religious persecution. So shut it.

Thank you, STFU, Believers for posting this. www.stfubelievers.tumblr.com

  1. What’s interesting is that this country was founded by deists. Your point about Buddhism is warranted–it is atheistic by nature–albeit, subscribes to a transcendental reality of man himself.

No wonder Christianity is plundering in this country–good post.

  2. Acctually the pilgrims that “fled” to America were acctually not fleeing, they had already fled to Holland and were allowed religous freedom there. The Mayflower Compact states that they came for “the glory of God” and “The advancement of the Christian faith,” NOT for religous freedom. I am a Christian and I believe American was founded by Christians, but it is NOT right for anyone to say the aitheist should get out.
